HSFC – Meet the team – Q&As

Harley Street Fertility Clinic (HSFC) offers comprehensive assistance to couples who are not able to conceive on their own, through a range of treatments.

They understand that this can often be a very daunting and challenging time for couples, which is why the HSFC team focus on making the clinic as open and welcoming as they possibly can. The expert team is always on hand to offer advice and care for every single person that walks through the door.

And the team want YOU to get to know them a little bit better and so over the next few weeks we will be going over some questions and answers with certain people at HSFC.

Starting with Mr Suvir Venkataraman…

Q: What is your role at HSFC and what does that involve?

“I am the General Manager and that involves me overseeing the overall operations of the clinic on a day-to-day basis.”

Q: How long have you worked at the clinic?

“Almost three years now.”

Q: What has surprised you most about working at the clinic?

“I think the most surprising thing is the wide diversity of people that we get coming in for treatments.”

Q: What do you find most challenging about working at HSFC?

“It can be a very emotional and stressful time for people and if they come in and pay for the treatment and don’t get a result it is very difficult.

Q: What is the best thing to have happened to you whilst working here?

“Everytime someone gets pregnant thanks to our treatment it is great, but there was one time, very soon after I joined that stands out for me. A woman came in a couple of times and took on the treatment, but unfortunately was unsuccessful. Howeve, she came back into the clinic and thanked us all for our efforts and that there was nothing else we could have possibly done for her.”

Q: What do you do at the weekends to relax?

“I like to go out and ride my bike."

Q: Did you always want to go into the health industry when you were younger?

“No – when I was younger I think I wanted to be an F1 driver for a while!”

Q: Where is your favourite place to go on holiday and why?

“I would have to say Italy because everyone out there is so friendly.”

Q: Tell us an embarrassing fact about you?

“I actually have a pretty poor memory and one time I even forgot that it was my birthday.”

Q: If you were stuck on a desert island, who from the clinic would you want to be trapped with and why?

“My wife!”

Suvir’s wife, Krystal Burnett, works as one of the office supervisors and will be answering these questions next week - let’s hope she answers ‘My husband’ for the last question!
