HSFC - Meet the Team - Dr Venkat

HSFC – Meet the team – Q&As with Dr Venkat

Harley Street Fertility Clinic (HSFC) offers comprehensive assistance to couples who are not able to conceive on their own, through a range of treatments. They understand that this can often be a very daunting and challenging time for couples, which is why the HSFC team focus on making the clinic as open and welcoming as they possibly can.

The expert team is always on hand to offer advice and care for every single person that walks through the door. And the team want YOU to get to know them a little bit better and so over the next few weeks we will be going over some questions and answers with certain people at HSFC.

Dr Geetha Venkat is the Director at HSFC and here is her interview:

What is your role at HSFC and what does that involve?

“I am the Director at Harley Street Fertility Clinic and I help oversee all the patients that come here and take them through their treatments.”

How long have you worked at the clinic?

“Well since it was started 5 years ago, but I have worked in the industry for over 20 years.”

What has surprised you most about working at the clinic?

“I am not sure what has surprised me the most.”

What do you find most challenging about working at HSFC?

“The whole field is a challenging one and comes with occasional difficulties but I like the challenge.”

What is the best thing to have happened to you whilst working here?

“I like that we have different kind of patients and there was one couple who had been trying IVF treatment elsewhere and after 3 times over 17 years they were still unsuccessful and felt like there was no hope. But they heard about us online and decided to try once more with us and after the first attempt - they were successful in getting pregnant. That was very special.”

What do you do at the weekends to relax?

“I like to go to the gym and go for walks and to socialise with my friends.”

Did you always want to go into the health industry when you were younger?

“Yes from the age of 8 years old I knew I wanted to become a doctor.”

Where is your favourite place to go on holiday and why?

“I have two favourite places: Italy and California. In Italy the weather is great and the people are so nice and friendly. As for California, there is no better place to go and relax.”

Tell us an embarrassing fact about you?

“I can’t think of anything, sorry to disappoint!”

If you were stuck on a desert island, who from the clinic would you want to be trapped with and why?

“This is a tough one as I work with a number of wonderful people here at the clinic. Can I have some time to think about it..? ”
