Meet the Team - Q&As with Neema Savvides

Harley Street Fertility Clinic (HSFC) offers comprehensive assistance to couples who are not able to conceive on their own, through a range of treatments. They understand that this can often be a very daunting and challenging time for couples, which is why the HSFC team focus on making the clinic as open and welcoming as they possibly can.

The expert team is always on hand to offer advice and care for every single person that walks through the door. And the team want YOU to get to know them a little bit better and so over the next few weeks we will be going over some questions and answers with certain people at HSFC.

This week is our very own nutritional therapist Neema:

What is your role at HSFC and what does that involve?

I’m the Nutritionist at HSFC and I help to support clients through their fertility journey with dietary plans, ensuring they are meeting all their nutritional needs. I look at addressing any underlying factors that could be affecting their fertility – this could be a combination of hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, food sensitivities, toxic overload and a whole lot more! We want to achieve the best possible response to medication, and produce the highest quality eggs and sperm. During assisted conception we ensure the woman’s body is able to cope with the demands of the medications she is on.

How long have you worked at the clinic?

Just over 2 years now.

What has surprised you most about working at the clinic?

Just how different each client’s needs and requirements are.  Everyone has their own story and is on their own unique journey

What do you find most challenging about working at HSFC?

It’s really tough to see clients go through the emotional and stressful rollercoaster that is fertility and you can’t help but get emotionally involved. It’s tiring and draining but the rewards when someone you have been working with achieves a positive pregnancy result are beyond rewarding.

What is the best thing to have happened to you whilst working here?

A client I was seeing had his semen morphology increase from 1% to 6% which is a huge improvement. His wife emailed me to thank me for changing their lives. That was a really proud moment

What do you do at the weekends to relax?

I run with my beautiful dog Jackson and my husband.

Did you always want to go into the health industry when you were younger?

No.  I started my early career in the Banking industry, quickly realised realised it wasn’t for me and here I am!

Where is your favourite place to go on holiday and why?

Barbados.  White sands and crystal clear water.  What’s not to love?

Tell us an embarrassing fact/story about you?

I’m horribly clumsy.  I’m forever bumping in things and tripping over.

If you were stuck on a desert island, who from the clinic would you want to be trapped with and why?

I couldn't possibly choose. They are all fab!
