Offered at 10% off individual female and male check-ups
Fertility check-up for couples
We offer flexible appointments, including evenings and weekends.
Prior to undergoing any form of fertility treatment, a patient’s fertility should be assessed thoroughly. HSFC offers fertility check-ups for both men and women including hormone blood tests, semen analysis, ultrasound scans and follow-up advice and consultations.
If you’re struggling to conceive, the best and most cost-effective option is to ensure both you and your partner have a thorough fertility check-up. Our check-ups for couples involve complete assessments of both partners.
We’re delighted to introduce our ‘Fertility Check-Up For Couples’ offer, giving you 10% off individual female and male check-ups.
Valid until 30/11/2021
What will we check?
For the female, we will check the ovaries and uterus for any abnormalities, and we will also analyse the hormone levels.
For the male, we’ll look at sperm density and motility and check for any infections or other abnormalities.
How do we perform the checks?
You will first have a remote fertility consultation with one of our specialists, and then we will ask you to attend the clinic for your assessments (or to provide samples, in the male’s case). Both of your check-ups will likely be completed within 1 hour.
Before the assessment, we ask that patients abstain from any form of sexual activity for between 2-5 days. This is to ensure we get the best, most accurate samples and results.
What is analysed?
During the female check-up, we will analyse:
The ovaries and uterus (via a pelvic ultrasound scan).
Hormone levels, including the Antimullerian hormone (AMH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinising hormone (LH), Oestradiol (E2), Prolactin, thyroid function (TSH and Free T4) and Vitamin D.
During the male check-up, we will analyse:
The Sperm (including its density, volume, count, morphology and motility).
Any anti-sperm antibodies or infections.
Results and further testing
Directly after the fertility assessments of yourself and your partner, you will be provided with a thorough report of your results. All of the results can be explained to you in detail by our experts.
Our doctors will also arrange a second consultation with you (which can be done remotely) to discuss your results and options for fertility treatment if necessary.
Please note that in some cases, further testing may be advised.
We are open on site again from 29 May 2020.
We still have an on call number for patients to call in an emergency (07739 527 505).
