Fertility issues are thought to affect 1 in 6 couples in the UK, and while some women will be able to conceive using their own eggs whilst having treatment, for others this simply isn’t possible, and can be very hard to come to terms with. In these situations, patients explore the idea of using an egg donor in order to become a parent, something that can be life changing, and a service that is offered at the Harley Street Fertility Clinic.

Dipali Patel, Egg Donation Coordinator, at the Harley Street Fertility Clinic says, “We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the women who have been a part of our egg donor programme. Their selflessness, and willingness to give back, is quite remarkable because it can help another woman have the baby they so desperately want and change their life. However, the reality is that there is a lack of egg donors, particularly among ethnic minorities, and we are asking for women to think about whether they would consider giving someone else the chance to become a parent.

She adds, “Egg donors are exceptional women who offer something special to others, and from that very first phone call or email, we work with them to ensure they are entirely happy with the process and that they understand what is happening and why. We know first-hand how much this can help someone who really wants to be a parent and would welcome anyone who is thinking about being an egg donor, to come in and talk to us and find out more more.”

Donors are given all the information and advice they need to make an informed decision and the team at the clinic are on hand to help with all procedures and questions.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
