Make 2020 the best year (yet)

A New Year is our chance to look hopeful at the future. A new beginning. A time for new hopes, aspirations and New Year resolutions. For people trying to conceive, this is the time when they wish that the new year will bring their precious baby.

Carys Morgan, acupuncturist at Harley Street Fertility Clinic, is committed to offering an holistic approach to health. Having studied meditation and mindfulness, Carys works with both the emotional and physical body. To prepare everyone for the New Year, she kindly revealed some important steps to take.

  1. Stay present in the moment.

Everything happens for a reason? “I think it does,” says Carys. “It’s not because we can’t have what we want. Sometimes we need to do things in a slightly different way, and to listen. We are quick to rush to open doors. Sometimes we have to wait still for the door to open for us. I like to use an analogy, if you splash around in water you’re likely to attract sharks. Sometimes if you just stay very still, then you can let the water settle around us and we’ll know what to do.”

  1. Keep everything in perspective

Carys encourages everyone to trust the bigger picture. “A lot of people are trying to control everything. But…There’s a moment in everyone’s life when we realise we are not in the driving seat,” says Carys. “The antidote of fear is trust. You have to trust the bigger picture. Sometimes it’s about divine timing. It’s about what we learn when we don’t get what we want.” Carys’s advice is simple: “Let go! Let be!”.

  1. Don’t give up on your dreams

Everyone has dreams and Carys says to “never let go of the dream but be flexible. Keep everything moving. There’s a universal law that says what we insist upon will resist us. Change your perspective and be inspired by hope and keep moving towards the mark.”

  1. Come up with a plan of actions.

The last on the list of actions is to have a plan and goals to move towards. “I encourage my patients to write a list of their intentions, written in present tense. I usually have 2 lists, one for my career and one personal. It’s important to acknowledge your achievements and to look forward to the future.”

Carys concludes*: “It’s a journey, to become a better picture of ourselves. I learnt nearly everything from my struggles and not everything from my successes.”

Soon the New Year will be here. A new beginning. A time for new hopes, aspirations and New Year resolutions.

We wish you an amazing 2020, full of wishes fulfilled, hopes and dreams becoming true. 2020, the first in a decade of happiness and love.

Happy New Year!

We too have run around the slopes
And picked the daisies fine
We’ve londoned many weary foot
Since auld lang syne

(since days gone by)

For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
