2020! What A Year! The year when the world stood still, fertility journeys were interrupted, and dreams shattered. The year when, above all, we were reminded of how important health is.
In 2020, for the first time since its opening 10 years ago, our clinic had to close its doors in order to keep patients and staff safe. Existing treatments had to carry on, while new ones were postponed indefinitely. Fortunately in June HFEA gave us the green light to reopen, to our patients' delight.
I am ever so proud of the way our staff, some of them furloughed, were during these difficult times. Our Head Nurse Rachael, nurse Tanya, General Manager Suvir, and Patient Coordinator Carina were all working during the lockdown, checking the samples are safely stored, dealing with patients' enquiries, checking the temperature of the freezer, even feeding the fish in the aquarium. All of them doing their very best to keep the clinic going.
This year we partnered with Fertility Help Hub, with whom we ran Instagram lives, webinars, and articles. We are ever so grateful to Eloise for all her hard work throughout our partnership. The reputable ThisIsMyHealtcare became also our partner, meaning that patients who live in central and North of England could have routine tests performed locally and only the treatment carried out in London. We also partnered with Expectancy Scan Studios in Kent for patients located on the coast. We also had a very inspirational Instagram live (recorded) with Laura-Rose. the LGBT Mummies Tribe.
Our patients are at the heart of everything we do, and we created educational podcasts, we took part in Instagram lives and webinars, to inform and educate. We hope everyone found them useful - they are all on our YouTube page.
