Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy

When people are trying to have a family using a fertility clinic, they are hoping for a successful outcome – a healthy baby. Having a healthy baby depends on many factors such as the age of the woman, the quality of her eggs and sperm etc. It is well established that, the older a woman is, the more risks are associated with her pregnancy and chromosomal abnormality in the baby.

In order to screen for genetic defects that could lead to implantation failure, miscarriages and birth defects, Harley Street Fertility Clinic offers testing of the embryos. This technique is performed before transferring the embryo into the uterus and is recommended to patients with recurrent IVF failures or recurrent miscarriages.

We are pleased to announce that the recording of our Educational Webinar “Preimplantation Embryos Screening for Aneuploidy” that took place on Friday 6th November 2020, is now available to watch.

The webinar included:

  • Having a healthy baby and potential hurdles (Speaker: Dr Geetha Venkat, Director and Senior Consultant HSFC);
  • Choosing the best embryo (Speaker: Dr Suvir Venkataraman, General Manager HSFC);
  • Practical steps (Speaker: Ms Carina Nobrega, Patient Coordinator HSFC).

Learn more about PGT-A, including embryo biopsy and risks.
