COVID-19 precautions review

We regularly review our COVID-19 precautions to mitigate the risks to our patients and staff based upon the wider environment.

Owing to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases and the prevalence of the Omicron variant of the virus, which appears to spread rapidly, we will be revising our precautions at the Clinic as follows:

1. All patients who attend the clinic will be checked for symptoms and have their temperature taken at reception. If they have symptoms or a high temperature, they will be asked to wait outside the Clinic to be dealt with by the clinical team.

2. All patients undergoing treatment are currently required to have a negative COVID-19 PCR test for themselves and their partner within three days of starting treatment. If they do not have the results in hand, they will either have a PCR test performed then at the Clinic or abandon the cycle.

3. All patients undergoing treatment will now be required to have a second COVID-19 PCR test on day 8 of their cycle. As above, if they do not have the results in hand, they will either have a PCR test performed then at the Clinic or abandon the cycle.

As a reminder:

  • Please do not attend the Clinic if you have any symptoms (high temperature, persistent cough, loss or change to sense of smell or taste) or if you have tested positive or been in contact with someone with COVID.

  • Partners should not attend the Clinic unless they are specifically required for the appointment.

  • Partners and escorts of patients having procedures under sedation should come to collect the patient when they are ready to be discharged.

We would like to request everyone to continue to look after themselves and others by minimising their risk of exposure. We also encourage everyone to get fully vaccinated.

Only by working together can we overcome this pandemic.
