It is estimated that 1 in 2 men are affected by urological conditions throughout their lives. To raise awareness of urological conditions and raise money to fund vital research, the Urology Foundation is organising the Urology Awareness Month. The event takes place every September, its aim being to “raise awareness to breakdown stigma and encourage people to actively take care of their urology health” according to the Urology Foundation’s website.
Harley Street Fertility Clinic are encouraging men to have regular check-ups and see their GP for any concerns. As sometimes urological conditions can lead to permanent loss of spermatogenesis, men considering cancer treatment or other urological treatment that can lead to a loss of their fertility are strongly encouraged to freeze their sperm.
